Separate the visible pavers from the layers below

A paved surface needs at least three quantity checks: pavers at the top, bedding below them, and base material below the bedding. Combining these into one number hides the decisions that matter, so the result shows them separately.

Paver and layer calculation

pavers = surface area ÷ paver area, plus pattern allowancebase or bedding volume = surface area × selected depth

An optional compaction factor affects the base layer only, not paver or bedding quantity.

Pattern, edges, and drainage

Patterns and curved or bordered edges usually create more cuts. Base depth, drainage fall, edge restraint, and subgrade preparation depend on the site and product system. Confirm those requirements before ordering bulk material.

Use the right order unit

Enter pavers per box or box coverage when the product is boxed; otherwise use the paver count. The calculator rounds whole pavers and boxes so the shopping figure does not conceal a fraction of a product.
